A little venting...a little running :)

Oh me oh my...well, I feel like i'm at a turning point, or sort of stuck in a goopy glob of mud! i'm stuck between a go-nowhere sort of position in regards to this job and don't see that it will ever really pan out. i think the guy who was starting the business had no idea what it truly was going to take, had insufficient planning, networking, etc. and is in no position to actually start up. his website looks like crap, and as it is the main platform of his business, it doesn't look too promising in the way of success. it is really frustrating, as i put so much time and effort into my sector of the business, yet it all looks as if it's going down the tubes. i had written a lot of not only marketing stuff (fliers, brochures, etc.) reached out to lots of people, and started a blog and writing track and field related articles there, but without this boss holding up his end of the deal, there will be no business. so here i am out another couple months without seeing anything in the way of compensation, and back into the wide world of job market seeking...cripes. well, i would really like to somehow parlay all the articles or information i had amassed for this last venture into something profitable, perhaps starting to write for a track website, but i'm not sure if there is an opening, and crossing my fingers that something might work out there. but as i'm not sure, it kinda scares me because if nothing is there, i'm not sure what i should be doing...i feel lazy not getting out there and making money! i'm hoping i will hear back from a few people tomorrow, but i soooo fell sorta stuck in limbo. gosh, it sure is tough trying to do freelance writing stuff, you send out all these responses and/or queries to people and hardly hear back! well, that could be because maybe i'm just not so good, and that's my problem i guess! ugh.

oh well, as far as that goes, i'm gonna stick a fork in it and just try to push it outta my mind. had a good long run today, went to a new place (of course got lost getting there...thanks a lot Google maps...NOT!) but met up with a new group and they were all really nice and hopefully i'll be able to meet up with them again. of course the guys are way faster and since they were doing a sorta tempo workout, they left me in the dust after a few miles in, but it was fun to have company and i was able to push to keep them in sight, and that made it a good workout for me...haha...aaah, the joy of falling off the pack and being pooped out the end! but it's a good goal to try to get faster so as to stick with them longer before being dropped!

tons of people out on the bike trail today, lots of people walking dogs, which is usually fine, but it bugs me when they let their dog lunge at you and don't do anything about it...aarg. the other annoying thing that people do, which i feel kinda bad bitching about because they are doing trying to be nice, but when they make stupid comments like, "wow, you're going at a good pace" or "great stride!", it's so cheesy. the funniest thing was when i was literally jogging my warm-up on the track and when i pass these two walkers, they literally start clapping their hands and cheering for me because i ran a whole lap around the track. i feel mean saying it, but it's like, okay, it's one lap and please don't clap, cuz i've got like tons of laps to do way faster than i'm going now, and for gosh-sakes don't applaud a warm-up! oh well, i guess they think their are being inspirational or what not, but it's like, come on people! oh well, at least they are nice enough to stay outta lane one!!

okay folks, gotta go!

Busy with Stuff...

hey hey my friends,
sorry of my lapse the past few days...i'm actually been kinda busy, which hopefully is a good thing, as i've been trying to get some work drummed up!! :) i've been dipping my feet into the freelance writing biz, and seeing what i can do there. i've been able to do a few things, but it's tough starting out, as i don't have much in the way of a writing resume to put out there...haha, and thus as it's hard to get jobs without prev. works, it in turn makes it hard to get a resume, and u see that fun little circle it creates...haha. but i've been thinking 'small' and hopefully by doing little things here and there, i'll get better, gain experience, and maybe get more down the road.

soooooo...let's see...i'm also happy cuz i got a lot done on that second book i was working on. got a bit OCD'ish and got out the rough copy, it ended up being 57,000 words, which for ME was a lot, and the longest thing i've ever written. after i got thru it, i took a huge gasp of breath and now i kno i've gotta go back thru it all and add/change/delete/tweak/etc. so by no means am i done...haha.

la de da...oh, and i was happy with my tempo run yesterday, was able to go 34 seconds faster than last week :) i hope i can keep improving at least a lil each week, and hopefully my fitness will get to some respectable level again...haha. looks like i will probably be forced to do those darn 200's tomorrow, so wish me luck...hehe.

well, time for the weekly run to the grocery, i better get going, so people, i hope ur all enjoying ur summer, and keep ur fingers crossed for me in the way of getting some income...haha!

Just another day...

well...i certainly think we have hit the Micheal Jackson saturation point in the media...my lordy!! it is kinda crazy how much coverage in every way from every angle it is coming. now, i am not going to deny the fact that he definitely made a HUGE contribution to and changed a lot in the music world and i'm not gonna lie: his stuff was AWESOME...billy jean, thriller, etc...but at some point we must stop the madness!! all-day marathon coverage of the memorial, tributes, his face on every mag...ee gags! it's just kinda crazy how interested people are in every facet of the man's life. special edition footage of inside that crazy Neverland, tracking down every living acquaintance/friend and hounding them for 'secrets,' and wat's actually sad are the people who try to profit off of the whole tragedy, and pimp themselves out for camera time/money/fame to offer some 'juicy' tid-bit to the press. oh well, that'll be the end of my lil' two cents.

newayz...had a good day so far, did my lil' tempo run and actually felt good running it today and was happy i went 33 seconds faster for the five miles than i did on friday :) even better, i haven't been stalked by the creeper man as of late, or had any midnight laundry room encounters :) got in some good writing time, and get to watch a little TBS 'kind of queens.' me likey doug! hehe.

i also noticed that crazy cactus lady has a new addition to her clan. i have yet to find out a name for it, but i will keep u all updated! i swear, if i end up a lonely spinster talking to plants in my old age, just end it for me!!

okay, not much to report today, sorry...

A day in the Life

Hello!!

Well, if you are reading this, I thank you and extend my hand in friendship...haha. Okay, so i'm not really sure what direction I will be taking this blog, but I thought I'd throw my crazy thoughts, ideas, and experiences into cyberspace and hopefully if nothing else provide a little entertainment to whoever ends up reading.

I guess we can start with a little background info...I absolutely luv to run and do art and read a lot. I've got a variety of interests, and I'm sure more will pop up as I continue this little on-going 'project'. I've got the coolest younger sibs (2 bro's and a sis) who rock and continually amaze me in every way. Right now my days generally consist of being a slave to one Quizno's Subs, and I serve up those torepedo's with the best of them. (yes, they are toasty, but in all honesty I'm more of a Subway fan myself) I actually only started working there about 2 months ago, and after having to leave my last job, fell head-long into the wonderful world of food service. I honestly can't believe how rude or just plain inconsiderate people can be, and sometimes think to myself, "is this person for real!" You gotta love those customers that eat practically all their sandwhich, then want a refund because us idiots made such a sub-standard meal...god forbid in this current economy someone not get absolutely EVERY CENT worth of the $4 thing they ordered, they better have had a life-fullfilling meal served to them...one forgets that it is only casual/fast-food they came into, not a cafe in france...it makes me laugh after the initial pissed-offness wears off. but hey, it does add some fun entertainment to an otherwise mundane day.

My day starts off with my regular run (i've been a weenie lately and been sticking to the Treadmill. i'm a wee bit anal as to knowing exactly how far and at what pace i'm going, so i like being able to control that...hehe) and catching up on the latest world going-on's with our good Today Show friends in Matt, Al, Meradith and posse. I'm not too good at keeping up on current events or reading the paper, so in an effort to not be completely ignorant of what's happening in the country or around the world this is my attempt to keep somewhat up to date, and the show does add the usual 'fluff' to keep things interesting (i would never be able to stick to something as hard core newsy as CNN and the like) and I do get a dose of 'celebrity sleeze' every now and then. (yes, i'm an admitted trashy mag addict!)

Well, when that's all done, I am usually rushing around, with the whole shower thing and throwing down my bowl of cereal, then off to my lovely Quizno's. After too many hours go by I'm released...but i'll add in more fun stories and such later. Luckily my co-workers are pretty cool on the whole (minus the 66 year-old chick i like to refer to as the Quizno Nazi, as she has to have EVERYTHING her way...and speaks a mile a minute with this thick accent which i can never understand). Get home, make sure by awesome cat has his food bowl full, then wind up wasting the rest of the day either reading, watching some tv, or losing astounding amounts of minutes aimlessly online. (i swear there must be some kind of facebook time warp where time passes much faster than in the real world!)

Okay, well, i know, this has all been soooo exciting, but i promise later posts should continue to delight and entertain more, i'm just starting after all! Just wanted to give a little background for future referances i suppose. i'm gonna try to post up some of my art stuff and writing escapades as well, so maybe i can get some feedback and whatnot...so definitly check back people! I've got TONS of crazy stories and whatnot, as if i may say so myself I've packed a lot of crazy skrewed up funny stuff into my mere 23 years on this big round earth....so more later!

Until then, respect ur fellow food-handlers and either keep running or start :)
